The Erebus® Shackle

Erebus® Shackles are versatile, safe, and easy to use. They are manufactured in QLD from Dynice or Robus dyneema with an Australian-made polyester cover. The drastic weight savings and reduced risk of injuries make them the perfect replacement for the traditional steel D-shackle.

The Erebus® Shackles are widely used throughout the mining industry and across a great range of applications and projects. Projects such as shipping – for use with tug tow lines and in the aquaculture industry to secure fish factories to fish pens. Soft Rigging Solutions have been used for securing heavy loads, where our shackles have replaced chains for tie downs as the correct spec chains were too heavy to handle safely. Across agriculture, our products encourage safety upgrades to common procedures, removing farming equipment from snig chains and the massive risks they bring with stored energy. Rescue teams such as the fire service have also adopted our technology to secure vehicles that are perched in precarious positions so a rescue and be undertaken with no risk to the rescuers; these shackles really are a game changer.

Erebus® Shackles have an MBS of up to 500t and are the only engineer-certified soft shackle available on the market made entirely of fibre with no metal components. Safety is improved by reducing the risks associated with heavy lifting and manual handling. It also enables inclusion by removing the physical barriers that previously excluded some men and women from completing the task.
